Ruby Kay Poole

Ruby Kay Poole, 84, entered eternal rest on Thursday, March 21, 2024. Kay was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald E. Poole in 2011; parents George “Eddie” and Ruby Elvie (Bennington) Vaughn; brothers Gary Messer and Eugene Messer.

She is survived by her son, Robbin E. Poole and daughter, Deborah Kay Poole, both of West Union, and one grandson, Joshua Ty Shipley (Brandon) of Columbus, Ohio.

Kay retired from the Adams County Hospital Medical Records Department after 30 years of service and was a member of Satterfield’s Chapel Christian Union Church where she was an active song leader. Kay was also a member of Satterfield’s Chapel Ladies Aid, contributing several recipes to their cookbooks; many of which are still made by her family members today.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Kay’s name to either Eagle Creek Nursing Home or Buckeye Hospice and Palliative Care.

There will be a private graveside service held. Services are entrusted to the Thompson-Meeker Funeral Home in West Union.
