James A Best Jr, age 90 of Russellville passed away Friday October 12, 2018 at the Clermont Mercy Hospital in Batavia. He was born July 22, 1928 in Brown County, OH the son of the late James A and Nellie Fay (Brown) Best Sr. He worked at Prickett Implements for approximately 30 years and was a US Army veteran during the Korean Conflict. He was also a member of the Walter-Miller American Legion Post #394 for 64 years, a Jefferson Township Trustee for 20 years, a past member of the Russellville Congregation Christian Church and a lifetime member of DAV.
Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by son, Warren Best, brother, Clarence Best, and 2 sisters, Dorothy Jamison and Mary Klimazewski.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Dolores Best of Russellville, 2 sons; Dennis Best and wife Kimberly of Lebanon, OH, Duane Best and wife Sandra of Russellville, 3 grandchildren; Kevin & Melissa, Craig & Christal and Andrew, 1 step grandson; Ethan & Brittney, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 12:00 PM at the Meeker Funeral Home in Russellville with John Neu officiating. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Linwood Cemetery with a graveside military service by the Walter-Miller American Legion Post #394.
