Doug Arthur, 65, of Manchester, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2022 at UC
Medical Center in Cincinnati. He was born March 10, 1957 in Maysville, KY, son
of the late Glenn Wendell and Irene Humphry Arthur. In addition to his parents,
he was preceded in death a brother, Ralph and 2 sisters, Carol and Helen.
Doug honorably served his country in the United States Army where he retired as a
Diesel Mechanic after 21 years. After his retirement from the Army, he ventured
to Nashville, TN where he also worked as a Diesel Mechanic for another 23 years.
After his retirement, Doug returned back home to Manchester. He was a member
of the Manchester Veterans Club, graduated of class 1975 of Manchester High
School and enjoyed getting up early and sitting on his front porch to watch the sun
rise and watch the wildlife roam his yard.
He is survived by his siblings, Patrick (Brenda) Arthur of Cherry Fork, Donna
(Denver) Phillips of Bentonville, Mike Arthur of Wrightsville, Vicki Copas of
Seaman and Jerry (Kay) Arthur of Germantown, KY; aunts, Thelma, Frankie and
Juanita as well as several nieces and nephews.
Doug will be cremated. Family and friends are invited to a memorial gathering
from 12:00 PM, until the time of the memorial service at 1:00 PM, Saturday,
October 1, 2022 at Wilson Funeral Home, 35 W. Second St., Manchester. Pastor
Jim Lanham will officiate. Burial and military graveside services will follow at
Manchester Cemetery.
