Judy Edwards Obituary

Judy Alfaleen Edwards (nee Dryden) was born June 22, 1943 to Marion B. Dryden and Dorothy Dryden (nee Steward). She died peacefully from natural causes May 13, 2026 at home in Mt. Orab, Ohio, surrounded by her family. Judy lived and died her own way, on her own terms, taking her leave quietly and comfortably. She was respected by all who knew her and inspired deep devotion from her family. Her absence leaves a deep void in the hearts of all who loved her. Her family aspires to carry on her legacy of deep-rooted Appalachian stubbornness, independence, strong will and intellectual brilliance. She is greatly missed.

Judy had a keen interest in people and the human mind. She fondly remembered the characters from her time working at the blood bank in Cincinnati, the mentally ill she served at Rollman's later on, and finally her "old people" she cared for as a registered nurse at nursing homes in Clermont, Brown and Adams counties. Judy retired from the Adams County Manor in 2008 to care for her sister and then her husband. Aside from raising strong daughters, Judy was known for unparalleled peanut butter fudge, sewing and design talent, and her fashion sense.

Judy is preceded in death by her devoted husband Claude R. (Tony) Edwards; beloved sister Phyllis Dryden; brothers Ricky and Johnny Dryden, and granddaughter Carol M. Weaver. She is survived by her daughters Doris A. Srofe (Daryl), Toni L. Stone (James L.), Michele L. Gregory (Glen), and son by marriage Kenneth R. Weaver (Charisse); grandchildren Charisse A. Weaver, Ronald S. Whitaker, Cassandra L. Stone, Eric R. Whitaker, Amber N. Tengowski, Cory M. Stone, Michael R. Gregory, Samantha E. Whitaker, Nathan R. Gregory, Bryon D. Whitaker; and great-grandchildren Steven D. Whitaker, Brianna M. Whitaker, Liam R. Gregory, Scarlett R. Whitaker, Lydia R. Gregory, Wyatt C. Tengowski, Silar Whitaker, and Denton Whitaker.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. May 30th at West Union Cemetery. Following that, a joyful remembrance for her family and friends will be held at 3 p.m. May 30th at Bloomrose Hall, 16894 Bloomrose Rd., Williamsburg, Ohio. Judy requests that all who attend her remembrance wear bright colors and a smile—and bring their dark humor.
