Wayne Calvert

 Wayne Calvert, 83, passed into Eternal Life on Tuesday March 10, 2020 at his home in Wooster with his wife and children at his side. Wayne was born on November 12, 1936 in Tollesboro, Kentucky, the son of Isaac F. and Flora B. (Reeder) Calvert. He graduated from high school in his hometown and began a long career as a truck driver at a young age. He was a member and officer in the Teamsters.  And also a member of the First Baptist Church of Wooster.

Wayne leaves behind his wife, Mary Ann (Jones), who he married in 1958, sisters Ruth (Bill) Bickley of New Carlisle, OH, Julie (Pete) Schenk of Crossville, TN, daughter Cynthia (Mick) Shockley of Eaton, Ohio, son Timothy W. Calvert (Anne Lowery) of Ruwais, United Arab Emirates, grandchildren Joseph (Tracie) Aman, Isaac Aman, Rebecca (Thomas) Luebbe, Timothy (Alicia) Calvert,  Chelsea, Brooks and Blake (Shaylee) Calvert, and Robert (Heather) Shockley, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, special friend Faye Gibbs and his beloved dog, Crystal.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, sister Hilda (Bill) Fletcher, and a daughter, Brenda Joy Calvert.

The Calvert Family would like to extend its appreciation to Ohio LifeCare Hospice of Wooster and the caregivers who helped make Wayne’s final days comfortable and peaceful. Appreciation is also given to the Roberts Funeral Home of Wooster for their local assistance.

Funeral services will be held Saturday March 14, 2020 at Noon at the Thompson-Meeker Funeral Home in West Union, Ohio with Larry Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Olivet Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Friday March 13, 2020 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

A meal will be provided for family and friends at the Orangeburg Fire Department following the burial.
