William "Bill" T. Copher Jr.

William Thomas “Bill” Copher Jr., 94, was born on December 31, 1931, and passed away peacefully at home on July 7, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, William Thomas Copher Sr.; his mother, Doris May Powell; his brother, Dean; and his sisters, Louise and Nettie.

He is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, June Copher; his son, William Michael (Donna) Copher Sr.; his daughters, Brenda Wilkerson and Cindy Gragg; his grandchildren, Melissa (Tim) Inman, Michelle (David) Disher, William Michael Copher Jr., Tamara (Donny) Pease, Kyle Estrada, Jessica (Joey) Catalani, Megan Atcitty, and Terri Wilkerson; his great-grandchildren Andrew, Joseph, Benjamin, Brittany, Dakota, Sammantha, Rebecca, Nicholas, Haley, Brooke, Dalton, and Donny; along with numerous cherished great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Above all else, Bill was a devoted family man. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose greatest joy came from spending time with those he loved. He was a lifelong farmer who found peace in working the land and was also a talented woodcrafter, creating pieces that reflected his patience, skill, and hardworking nature.

A proud United States Army veteran, Bill honorably served his country during the Korean War. Following his military service, he dedicated 33 years to the Kettering Board of Education, where he served as Head Custodian. He was respected for his strong work ethic, dependability, and quiet dedication.

Bill will be remembered for his kindness, humility, unwavering love for his family, and the example he set through a life of hard work, service, and integrity. His legacy lives on through the generations of family he loved so deeply and who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, July 10, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Thompson-Meeker Funeral Home, 216 W. Mulberry St., West Union, OH. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bill’s name to Hospice of Hope Maysville. 

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
